Adolescent Clinics for Indiana School Required Immunizations.

The DeKalb County Health Department will be offering FREE immunizations to adolescents entering or are in 6th grade through 12th. Adolescents entering grade 6 through 12 are required by Indiana law to have the following immunizations prior to beginning the 2010-2011 school year:
Meningococcal
Tdap (Tetanus/"Whooping" cough booster)
And either documentation of Chickenpox disease OR 2 doses of Varicella vaccine (chickenpox shot)
* Persons with a documented history of chickenpox disease DO NOT need the chickenpox shot!
Adolescents must have these immunizations prior to the first day of school.
Adolescent clinics will be held at the health department on the following afternoons:
Tuesday, May 25 Wednesday, May 26
Thursday, June 3 Wednesday, June 16
Thursday, June 17
These afternoon clinics REQUIRE an appointment and parents interested may call the Health Department at 260-925-2220.
There will be two OPEN clinics that will be held in the basement of the Annex building in Auburn. These OPEN clinics DO NOT require an appointment and will be held on:
Monday, June 21 and Wednesday, June 23 from 1 - 5pm
Immunizations given at all the clinics are FREE and are for those entering 6th through 12th grades ONLY. Adolescents and teens must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and a copy of the child's vaccine record should be brought to the clinic.
