Registers annually anyone working in DeKalb County.
Permits are required for the following:
New Residences
Manufactured Homes/Modular/Sectionals/mobiles
Accessory Buildings/Pole Barns/Farm Buildings
Garages
Additions to Residences, Decks/Porches, Garages, Accessory Buildings
Commercial Buildings/New and/or Additions to Existing Electrical Systems
Storage Sheds If structure will be 300 sq. ft. or less and not on a permanent foundation,
no permit is required.
Silos, Gazebos
Mobile Construction Offices
Foundation Replacement for Existing House
In ground Pools
New Signs Those needing a post hole inspection and/or electricity.
Remodeling Existing Area In House Changing electrical, plumbing, window size of structure.
No permits are required for the following:
Grade level patios
Painting
Paneling
Siding
Gutter and downspout replacement
Insulation
Window replacement of a like size not requiring a change to the existing structure
Storm windows and doors and other cosmetic improvements not affecting electrical plumbing or mechanical systems as determined by the Building Inspector.
